Jim's Jungle Retreat is a wildlife lodge in Corbett Tiger Reserve, nestled between the Himalayan foothills in the north and the ancient Shivaliks in the south. The protected forest, Asia’s first conservation effort, extends over 1300 square kms of grassland, forest, rivers and lakes.
In this fascinating landscape, we offer acres of lush refuge, forest and mountain vistas, countless bird-spotting opportunities and instinct-sharpening walks and safaris.
At the retreat, spend hours by the pool, at the jungle-inspired chemical-free spa or on your private verandah. A gastronomic experience awaits you with organic farm-to-table meals, cuisines from the Kumaon, the Raj and from the newabi kitchens of Rampur. Birdsong, privacy, and sumptuous meals are your personal luxuries here.
A highly rated wildlife lodge that offers an immersive jungle experience to its guests in over 15 acres of replanted forest. Only 18 independent cottages can be found here among water bodies, grasslands and mixed deciduous flora from the Terai planted decades ago.
Several water bodies, large and small, dot the property with lotus, water lilies and other distinctive species of flora. These water bodies make for an appropriate activity area for fishing for kids along with their families and provide a perfect ecosystem for birds, insects, butterflies, dragonflies and turtles.
Corbett is home to nearly 10% of bird species in India, of which nearly 600 resident and migratory species can be found here. At the Retreat, you'll have a chance to see these magnificent feathery creatures. Our curated birdwalks within and outside the retreat will take you to the riverbed, the Machaan, along our Mahavan, Python and Bagh Machaan trails, where over 150 species can be seen.
The organic farm at the Retreat offers fresh vegetables sourced for our delicious ‘farm-to-table’ cuisines. The veggie patch can be explored by guests where they can pick their own vegetables and learn about sustainable farming and ancient techniques.
The dining locations vary, as each meal is served in different locations at the lodge. Bush dinners in surprise locations among grasses and trees, under the open sky in a star lit night, up on the machaan; at the open-to-the forest Golghar or at the forest view café with comfortable sofas and unique à la carte food options. Arrangements for private dining are also available at the Retreat.
A gastronomical experience awaits you with sublime mouth-watering delicacies from the hill hearths of the Kumaon, family recipes from the Raj and from the newabi kitchens of Rampur. The food is organic as it is sourced from the retreat's vegetable patch and village fields nearby.
Reflecting the area’s Raj-era legacy and that of the wandering pastoral tribes of the Van Gujjars, we offer three accommodation styles designed with a focus on aesthetic, comfort and local history of the area.
These include jungle cottages and bungalow-style lodges borrowing from their architectural past, with large wrap-around verandas, a living area, a bedroom and en-suite bath.
Luxuriant fabrics, fine linen and subtle detailing creates a comfortable and a sophisticated environment. Century-old lithographs and plates of Indian wildlife scenes frame the walls. The furniture is designed with extensive use of local craftsmanship and material with each residence uniquely inspiring charm and exclusivity in itself.

Superb!
Such a special place. We are a family of 4 (with 2 kids < 12 yrs), booked for 3 nights but enjoyed it so much we extended for a 4th. A stunning property, great location, friendly & helpful staff, expert guides, fabulous food - we loved it all. And some nice touches like showing wildlife documentaries on an outdoor screen each evening by the pool before dinner, which our kids loved. The evening & morning trail walks with Mr B were a highlight (only for>15 year olds tho), as good as the game drives so definitely make time for a few of those. Highly recommended and we will definitely be back!

Delightful Experience!
We stayed at this resort from 29th Sep to 2nd Oct. This lovely boutique resort is right at the edge of the Forest. We stayed in a stunningly designed Lodge. The surroundings were very peaceful, there was a quaint little library and spa right below the lodge. We went for a early morning river walk and saw few animals. The staff is extremely helpful. The food is amazing and we got to experience authentic Kumaoni food. Overall the experience was wonderful.Would happily visit Jim's Jungle Retreat again !

Perfect anniversary getaway
JJR is a very nice place to stay, all the cottage and Lodge are thought for privacy and quiet, the restaurant and the cafe are thought to be welcoming and friendly, the food is really good and excellent gluten free option are always available, the staff is very kind and they will go out of their way to fulfil your needs. I strongly suggest the safaris: Jim Corbett national Park is just nearby and JJR jeeps are very comfortable :) we came for our anniversary and we will definitely come back!

Luxurious old world charm
Fabulous stay enjoyed every minute from the jungle tours to the cooking lesson to film and drinks in the open each night as well as the scrumptious food and then there is the lovely old world charm of the bungalows which are exceptionally comfortable and clean. The beautiful, peaceful yoga shala was my favourite place to practice yoga during my whole trip to India. Thank you for some amazing photos and memories

Lovely quiet retreat full of wildlife
Quite lovely cottages set in jungle, long tail monkeys gambol at will and birds are aplenty. Great food and plenty of it. Staff fabulous, local guides knowledgeable and walks are arranged through the nearby river, tigers and bears are often seen there. A swimming pool and spa are on site, a library and the cottages take you back in time. A nightly film and lecture by fireside before dinner was a joy.

One of the best places to stay
When we booked the resort, we didn't really check how deep into the forest it was. We drove there, were cordially welcomed and had a very good time for 3 days. The river walk in the morning was specially great. We never got a chance to have lunch there but breakfast and dinner were quite good all through the stay. The staff was also very cordial and rooms were spacious and really kept clean. Would definitely recommend it to everyone.

CLASSIC LUXURY EMBEDDED IN NATURE .....
Lovely place to be, albeit only & only, if one really wants to enjoy the beauty of being close to nature. Since I was travelling with my family, I took a 2 roomed cottage. Beautifully designed, with impeccable level of cleanliness & taking inspiration from local techniques of constructing temporary houses, it emitted a feel of living with the jungle flavour. Rooms along with the bath areas were spacious .

Our experience at Jim's Jungle Retreat
Jim's Jungle Retreat offers a truly outstanding experience. The entire team is so well trained and sensitive which enhances the whole experience. The food is beyond outstanding-- fresh, organic produce cooked very well which in my opinion is a game changer. The accommodation was super neat, clean and very comfortable. Our naturalist Rakesh Bhatt and our driver Babloo Pandey were exceptional. We saw 5 tigers in a span of 3 days; 3 tuskers one of which playfully charged our jeep and the other walked behind our vehicle for over a kilometer; a Changable Hawk Eagle; a Crested Serpant Eagle; a variety of Kingfisher's and even the Great Indian Hornbill, Oriental Hornbill and Grey Hornbills. An ideal place for a getaway which has great access combined with excellent accommodation, food and brilliant naturalists. Highly recommended 👌. Thank you Jim's Jungle Retreat for yet another memorable holiday. See you all soon

Conservation and respect for wildlife is at the heart of everything that happens at JJR. From the minute you start planning your trip until the time you leave, the entire team works seamlessly to provide you with the best possible experience. The team of naturalists make every interaction with the flora and fauna memorable and educational. The safaris, the in house activities are all curated to give you the best insights and enjoyment. The food is delectable and and all grown organically on JJR’s own farm. The lodge is the epitome of understated luxury but done sustainably and with respect for the wild abs environment. Every single member of the team is skilled to ensure that all your needs are taken care of.
The attached photo of Rakesh Bhatt the lodge naturalist and Paan Singh the driver was taken just moments after our sighting of an 8 month old tiger cub!
Thank you to everyone at JJR for being such generous hosts!! I can’t wait to go back and continue my journey with the jungle 🐅🦥🐘🐆🐒🦜

Thank you!
I organised the trip for my husband’s birthday. Having travelled across India I have to say this is one of the best resorts I have stayed in. The resort has a core that is made from people who truly know and understand wildlife and the forest- are passionate about this and encourage guests to learn. We stayed for two nights and every evening we were enthralled with a documentary and a journey of the various species around us. Everything was organised to the tee and I would really encourage true nature lovers to come and visit and stay here. Thank you to the amazing staff and especially Manoj the naturalist who lifts your spirit and makes you believe in the good of the world. Saurabh is the spa will take your pain away and add to the beautiful relaxation holiday you deserve and must have!

Best Lodge in the bliss of nature
Truly had an amazing experience in the jungles with all comfort. Amazing service, friendly and helpful staff. Best place for kids(lots of fun and educational activities) and adults to enjoy and bond with nature. Good food with a mesmerizing ambience. Thanks Team JJR!!

Brilliant experience of the jungle!
We were two families staying for 5 nights - and the time went by blissfully. It was a perfect combination of nature, absolutely rocking service and much needed downtime from the hectic lives we all lead. A special mention needed of the very well organised daily activities for all guests - bird watching, village walks and cycling tours... take your pick and just chill. The very able team of Naturalists led by Manoj Sharma - do a fabulous job of educating and just making the jungle experience very real. Abhishek was a total rock star with very useful tips and help in organising day picnics at Kosi River and a 170 year old Canal. Beautiful hikes and lovely spots. Thoughtfully packed lunches and the open air gypsy car made the two picnics very memorable. Cherry on the cake was of course sighting the majestic tiger himself (or was it herself?) - glorious memories we’ve come back with. Highly recommended for an experience like no other!

Paradise on the edge of Corbett, within the Tigers lair
We were expecting good things from this place, but were blown away by the glorious intricacies of the lodge. I am a lodge owner, and this gives me enhanced appreciation for the thought and details that have gone into the place. There is a great little vantage tower overlooking a pond great for fishing owls. The in-houses naturalists were informative and passionate about their job.

Perfect get away

Went to this place with family for 3 nights and ended up extending the stay by one more night. Stayed in a jungle cottage, which helps with 2 b/rooms and washrooms when you are with kids. Impressed by the concept behind the place and the way it is being run.
