Yamfly

Yamfly is a beautiful species of butterfly occurring in India, Sri Lanka, Indo-China and South-East Asia. It has strong relationships with plants including Asiatic Yam and Henna that are its host plants. It lays its eggs on these plants and its larvae feed on their leaves. In turn, the butterfly helps with the pollination of these plants during its adult stage.

Yamfly is an uncommon butterfly of Corbett Tiger Reserve. This beautiful specimen was recorded at Jim’s Jungle Retreat, located on the southern boundary of Corbett Tiger Reserve, by our naturalists.
