Being a conservation lodge, Jim’s Jungle Retreat aims to reduce its carbon footprint to minimum possible levels. Whereas, we have always been responsibly disposing off our solid waste and ensuring maximum possibility of recycling, recently an initiative was started with the help members of Ringora Self Help group, to train all the staff of Jim’s Jungle Retreat on solid waste segregation. Ringora Self Help group is an initiative by ladies from village Ringora who have been trained in the field of solid waste management by Waste Warriors, an NGO working in the field of waste disposal in the area. The segregated waste is sold to the local ‘Kabari’. This ensures that the people who have been practicing the profession are ensured of their livelihood and continue to contribute towards recycling of waste.
